Psychotherapy

We all hurt. Sometimes it can be hard to know how to make it stop. We also know that our truest dreams and longings live deep within us. There is a version of you in there not defined by the pain but this can be hard to remember when the pain is overwhelming. Therapy is a safe space where you can open your heart and be yourself without judgment. It is a space to gain an awareness and understanding of the pain and how it came to be, in service of allowing those dreams and longings to surface and take root, so that you can be the most authentic version of yourself. A version unencumbered by “rules” holding you back; a version that thrives out of the freedom offered by sheer authenticity.

We will do this by exploring the ways your family background, cultural influences, and the broader social and political context have shaped you, your relationships, and your worldview. We will also focus on the present moment and use our evolving relationship to understand patterns that may affect other parts of your life. From this deeper understanding of yourself,  it becomes possible to make positive changes in your life, improve your relationships, and develop healthier coping strategies.  Ultimately, I firmly believe that you are NOT broken. With me, you will get someone who is compassionate, warm, direct, and collaborative.

Relational Therapy

For relational support, I am here to help you get unstuck from the unhelpful dynamics you have gotten entrenched in by helping you notice the contributions each of you makes to these dynamics, the impacts of living under toxic systems on the ways you relate, and how systemic privilege shapes the dance between the two of you.
